Meet Vivian, Our Newest Team Member at Casita Copan

We are thrilled to introduce you to Vivian, the newest addition to our team at Casita Copan. Since she joined us in September, Vivian has not only taken on the responsibilities of her role as Administrator, but she has proven to be an invaluable member of our team in just a few short months. Her dedication, organizational skills, and commitment to our mission have made her an essential part of the Casita family, and we couldn’t be happier to have her around. We look forward to many more years with Vivian on our team, and we feel incredibly lucky that she came on board!

To help you get to know her a little better, we asked Vivian a few questions:

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
“I studied as an Industrial Engineer, I am married, and I am the mother of a girl. I am also an entrepreneur. I consider myself a very organized and perfectionist person who likes to set goals for myself.”

Tell us about a hobby of yours.
“I like to read. It’s a way for me to unwind and explore new worlds and ideas.”

You are a Copan born and raised, tell us about that.
“My experience as a Copaneca is wonderful. I love my little town — it is very cozy and quiet, full of many adventures and charming places to visit. Copán Ruinas is a place that will always have a special place in my heart.”

Tell us a little story that touched you at Casita.
“One of the anecdotes at Casita Copan that touched me deeply happened during one of the visits our children receive from their families. One of the children didn’t want to go see his biological mother, and he approached another child and told me, ‘Aunt Vivian, my friend doesn’t want to go to his mother’s house, and I haven’t received visits from my relatives, and I would love to be able to do so.’ I hugged him tightly and told him, ‘They will visit you soon, son.’ But with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes, it was a moment that really stayed with me.”

What appealed to you to come work at Casita?
“I applied to work at Casita Copan because I really admire their mission of helping children. It is an institution that has made such a positive impact on Copán Ruinas, and I wanted to be a part of that.”

What would you like for the children of Casita Copan?
“I would like the children to always have a space where they can have fun, and for there to be continuous opportunities for learning and growth that will benefit them in their adult lives.”

Vivian’s passion for helping children and her heartfelt connection to the community of Copán Ruinas have already made a lasting impact at Casita Copan. We’re grateful for the energy and dedication she brings to the team, and we know that she will continue to inspire and contribute to the growth of our mission. Welcome aboard, Vivian — we’re lucky to have you!
