Casita visits are back!

We are incredibly excited to announce that Casita visits are back on schedule. After 2 years of restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are officially accepting group and individual visits.

This march we hosted two large groups, one was a visit from our friends at the IPA Rotary Foundation, while the other was a medical and construction brigade from Towson Presbyterian Church in Maryland. Both groups had a fantastic time at Casita and did amazing work for our community.

Because of these successes, we are confident that the time is right for everything to go back to normal (or at least the new normal) and open our doors once again to visitors.

Here’s a few answers to some questions that you might have:

I’m visiting Copán soon, how do I arrange a visit?
You can contact us at [email protected], send us a request with the details of your visit with at least 1 week notice to plan accordingly.

What days and times can I visit?

Visiting times are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Can groups come?
Yes, if you are part of a group, we’d love to plan something that fits with both your travel plan and Casita’s goals.

Do you accept donations?

As a not-for-profit organization, Casita Copán depends on individual
donations to ensure the long-term care of our children, we encourage everyone to donate. You can donate in cash during your visit or through our website hereEvery little bit helps.

What about gifts and in kind donations?

Yes, visitors can bring in kind donations (non financial gifts)  for our children, but these must be prearranged prior to arrival.  You can find a list of recommended items to bring here.

What about COVID?

The COVID-19 virus is still a mayor health concern in Honduras and visitors from different countries should know that while our staff is fully vaccinated, not
all kids are old enough to be immunized against the disease. We advice
that visitors use their masks and to take all health precautions to protect the
well-being of the children under our care.

Hope to see you soon!
